Why Is It Important to Stay Fit?
Many people say that being fit and healthy is important, and most people know it quite well. It may be quite difficult to make people see how beneficial it is to stay physically active. So instead of discussing the benefits of being physically active, we will discuss the disadvantages of being otherwise.
First off, it was found through studies that people who are less active have higher chances of developing coronary heart diseases. That’s the cause of 1 in every 4 deaths in the US, and 1 in every 5 deaths in the UK. Exercise is known to help maintain blood pressure, reduce bad cholesterol levels and increase good cholesterol levels.
There is also this other issue about obesity, a condition which significantly increases a person’s risk of suffering and dying from heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, cancers, respiratory problems and many others. Physical inactivity is also blamed for more than 5 million deaths every year. These deaths could’ve been avoidable with proper exercise.
People who are physically inactive are also known to be less focused when it comes to studies and work. Exercise and increased oxygen intake seem to play an important part. The increased intake of oxygen will allow more oxygen in the brain, and this can help with coordination and movement. Exercise is also known to help create better sleeping patterns which can then help relieve stress, improve mood and improve overall brain function.
It has been said time and time again that staying fit is more than just about improving someone’s appearance. It’s more than just something to make you feel and look good. The benefits of getting enough proper exercise don’t stop with weight loss and good looks. Staying fit is a decision that can change your life for the better, especially if done for the right reasons.
